Natural Place Spaces
Natural Play Spaces is a brand new feature of our ‘new look’ Play Illawarra site and will feature some of the areas most beautiful spots to play out.
From the Mountains to the Sea we have many places to choose from, and over the coming weeks we will be featuring a few of these spaces with play ideas for you and your family when you get there.
Playing out amongst nature is important for children. It allows them to interact with the world around them, assess and manage their own risk taking and learn to problem solve and make good choices to keep themselves safe, and be confident and healthy kids!
But mostly it’s brilliant fun! Children can use up the abundance of energy that they always seem to have, get dirty, use their imagination and discover themselves in relation to their surroundings.
And if that’s not a good enough reason, there is also a whole bunch of research that supports this!
- Better immune systems and less sickness
- Calmer Kids, interaction with natural play environments reduces stress and anxiety.
- Improved imagination and creativity
- Improved confidence
- Physically active and healthy
